What to watch this week.

If you’re looking for some entertainment for the week I have you sorted, first and most importantly the release week for The Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is here, the highly anticipated film is expected on the 8th of May, the fans of the franchise finally get a glimpse into what happened after the leader of the apes died in the last released film. For those who don’t know about this franchise or need a memory refresh to be up to date with the events in the latest instalment coming to theatres this Wednesday, I’d recommend watching the previous movies starting at least with the story of Caesar in “The Rise of the Planet of the Apes”, we expect this film to show the reign of Caesar’s son after his father’s death, so we’ll all need a little context that comes from the story of Caesar.

This week also has a little something for the hopeless romantics who love a twist of comedy, “Mother of the Bride” is a romantic comedy set to be released on the 9th of May, the film is about a supermodel single mom finding out her daughter is getting married to the son of her ex-lover with only a month to prepare, the drama and old wounds between the ex-lovers is sure to be a treat for viewers. Directed by Mark Waters the film cast includes Miranda Cosgrove who we know from Disney channel shows like icarly.

Speaking of Disney, the entertainment company is bringing us a documentary centred around The Beatles, “Let It Be, at Last- the Beatles” only on Disney+ on the 8th of May, the documentary is named after the English band’s last album after their split.

Also, this week is the new episode of the 7th season of “The Good Doctor” on the 7th of May, with a young patient needing his parents to consent to get a medical procedure, however, the parents can’t seem to agree the so beloved doctors will have to step in to resolve the situation.

From Sci-Fi to romantic comedies, documentaries about musical legends and medical drama the film industry has a buffet of entertainment ready to eat.
