In this Privacy Policy;

taimafricaarts.org may be referred to as “TAIM AFRICA,” “we,” “our,” or “us.”

We call a user of the TAIM AFRICA Platform a “User,” or collectively, the “Users.”

“You” and “your” refer to an individual User of the TAIM AFRICA Platform. 

 

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains our practices in regard to the collection, use, maintenance, and disclosure of information by TAIM Africa Arts Ltd, including your personal information. TAIM Africa Arts Ltd (“TAIM AFRICA”) a corporation under the laws of the Republic of Uganda. It will also explain your legal rights to control use of that information.

This Privacy Policy applies to users of TAIM Africa Arts Ltd’s websites, streaming services, apps, features, or other services (collectively, the “TAIM AFRICA Platform”) This Privacy Policy specifically applies to filmmakers who stream from our platform, and to individuals and consumers who purchase content on our platform, or engage in videos on our platform.  

By using the TAIM AFRICA Platform, you confirm that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Service, (together referred to herein as the “Agreement”).  The Agreement governs the use of the TAIM AFRICA Platform. TAIM AFRICA will gather, use, and maintain information consistent with the Agreement.

In case of need of clarification about this Privacy Policy, please contact our Support Team at support@taimafricaarts.org. We may need to authenticate your identity before responding to your inquiry, for your safety and our own.

3. Consents

By signing up for an account on the TAIM AFRICA Platform, uploading your video content, or by allowing your video to be published on the TAIM AFRICA Platform, clicking “I Agree” or any other button indicating your acceptance of this Privacy Policy, you expressly consent that your Personal Information will be processed in Uganda, and you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information as described herein.

4. Collecting & Using of Information

For your registration, membership, trial, subscription(s), or other use of the Services, we collect, receive, and store personal data from you. Your Personal Information allows TAIM AFRICA to ensure a safe and secure environment in which TAIM AFRICA Users may transact video business.

We use your Personal Information to verify your identity and create your account and user profile on the TAIM AFRICA Platform, processing payments and fulfill orders from which you can access TAIM AFRICA services;

We also collect data and Personal Information for research and product development purposes. The information we collect allows us to improve the safety, security, and usability of our service. TAIM AFRICA also uses the information to develop new features for the TAIM AFRICA Platform.

Information collected includes, but is not limited to:

(i)            Self-provided Information:

We collect information you provide to us which may include, but is not limited to, your name, email address, address or postal code, payment method(s), and telephone number. We may also collect information when you choose to provide ratings, make lists, write reviews, or otherwise create content or interact with the Services. We collect this information in a number of ways, including when you enter it while registering for an account, use our service, interact with our customer service, or participate in surveys or marketing promotions;

(ii)           Automatically collected information:

We collect information about you and your use of our service, your location, your interactions with us and our advertising, as well as information regarding your network, network devices, and your computer or other capable devices you might use to access our service (such as gaming systems, smart TVs, mobile devices, set top boxes, and other streaming media devices). This information may include, but is not limited to, your activity on or interaction with the TAIM AFRICA Services;

(iii)          Information from partners:

We collect information from other companies with whom you have a relationship (“Partners”). Information from Partners varies depending on the nature of the Partner services.

TAIM AFRICA may use your Personal Information in any legal proceeding it is required to, or as a means of cooperating with law enforcement with any legitimate investigation. We protect this information according to the practices described in this Privacy Policy, plus any additional restrictions imposed by the source of the data.

5. Sharing Your Information

TAIM AFRICA will not disclose your Personal Information to third-parties, including for their direct marketing purposes, without your consent, except as explained in this Privacy Policy or permitted by law. We may disclose to third-parties certain Usage Data regarding the Site and Services. However, in such cases, your Usage Data is aggregated with the Usage Data of others and does not identify you individually.

We may share Personal Information with businesses controlling, controlled by, or under common control with TAIM AFRICA. If we are merged, acquired, or sold, or in the event of a transfer of some or all of our assets, we may disclose or transfer Personal information and Usage Data in connection with such transaction, include to third parties evaluating or facilitating such transaction.

6. Third-Party Providers

We may from time to time establish a business relationship with other businesses whom we believe are trustworthy and who we believe have privacy practices that are consistent with ours (“Third-Party Providers”).  These Third-Party Providers may include, but are not limited to, site hosting and maintenance providers, payment processing services, customer relationship management services, fraud detection services, marketing and promotion specialists, data storage and management providers. Third-Party Providers are prohibited from using Personal Information other than as specified by us.

7. Joint Service

We may provide services jointly with other companies. In some cases, to facilitate such services, it may be necessary to share your Personal Information with such other companies. Before we do so, we will identify the partner, present the joint service provider’s privacy policy to you before you use that service, and obtain your permission to share your Personal Information.

8. Information Retention Policy

We retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to carry out the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law or is necessary for us to protect our rights. We keep your personal information for as long you maintain an account or a subscription on the TAIM AFRICA Platform. When your account has been deleted or your subscription is over, we may retain certain personal information for purposes such as complying with our legal obligations, resolving disputes, preventing fraud or misuse of promotions, and protecting our rights and interests. We may be legally obligated, for example by tax and sales laws, to retain personal information related to product or subscription purchases for a period of time specified by law.

9. Safety and Security

We use reasonable technical, administrative, logical, physical and managerial measures to safeguard your personal information against loss, theft and unauthorized access, use and modification. These measures are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risks of processing your personal information.

Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. As a result, TAIM AFRICA cannot guarantee the security of any information you transmit to us, and you do so at your own risk. Though we use commercially reasonable efforts to ensure the security of all credit card and all other Personal Information, we expressly disclaim any liability for any unauthorized access to or use of our secure servers and/or any and all Personal Information and/or Financial Information stored therein, and you agree to hold TAIM AFRICA harmless for any damages that may result therefrom.

10. Privacy of Children

While individuals under the age of 18 may utilize Services on this Platform, they may do so only with the involvement, supervision, and approval of a parent or legal guardian. You must be 18 years of age or older to utilize services from the TAIM AFRICA Platform, in which case, you must certify your age.
