Millie Bobby Brown, cast and crew talk about filming some of the major scenes in the film. The story is about a kingdom that has to sacrifice 3 princesses every generation to appease a dragon whose children were killed by the kingdom's ancestral king, it uses princesses from other kingdoms, marries them to their prince, makes a blood pact and sacrifices them to deceive the dragon and protect their daughters. This works well for them until one princess “Elodie” figures it out after being sacrificed to the dragon and manages to survive, after escaping her sister is sacrificed instead forcing her to go back and tell the dragon the truth to save her sister, this angers the dragon and she brings havoc to the kingdom burning it down with her flames. Following this storyline, several scenes phenomenally brought the movie’s story to life and we have insight on how some of them.

1. Princess Elodie and Prince Henry’s first meeting

A scene where the prince and the princess walk together in a beautiful garden getting to know each other, was such a beautiful scene, a peace before the storm kind of scene, the actors, however, Millie Bobby Brown and Nick Robinson say despite the beauty of the scene it had its filming challenges like the heat, in the scene the actors are dressed in ancient royal attire which we know to have numerous layers, attires that Millie said took a long time to get on, the heat in such attires gave them a bit of a challenge plus the scene was one lengthy one and they joke saying that after each their director kept telling them in a Spanish accent ”more romance” and they’d have to do it all again. Similar to horseback riding, in a few scenes they were riding fake horses which they both confessed to not liking.

2. Elodie in the dragon's cave.

After Elodie is thrown into a dark cave as a sacrifice, we see her finding ways to survive, but this cave is dark and she can’t normally see, the director talks about how the desire to make it natural and avoid artificial light in the scenes they had to use elements that fit in the film to light up the dark cave scenes. One is the birds in the bird cave that light up the cave, the little light bulb she improvised. Another light source was the crystal tunnel that she climbed out of and the dragon’s fire.

3. Crawling through the narrow cave

Millie admitted that she is kind of claustrophobic so filming this scene was hard for her but after a while, she was able to brave up and do the scene.

She also talks about other scenes like being thrown into the cave saying she was just raised and lowered with hands acting like she was falling, and the scene where her palm was sliced for the blood ceremony, it was a rubber knife with red liquid giving the illusion of blood and she didn’t cut her hair but the decision to cut Elodie’s hair was her idea. During multiple behind-the-scenes, she keeps mentioning that the beautiful scenery scenes were filmed in Scotland.

The movie Damsel is a beautiful addition to Millie Bobby Brown's movies and is a must-watch for all her fans.
