one of the things that have captured the worlds eye isn’t necessarily good press for the festival, two videos are taking rounds all over social media showing a security guard blocking a female star
The Cannes film festival being one of the big ones all over the world attracting large crowds and the crème of the film industry.
However one of the things that have captured the worlds eye isn’t necessarily good press for the festival, two videos are taking rounds all over social media showing a security guard blocking a female star from taking pictures and rushing two ladies to the end of the red carpeted staircase.
The first one that was released was the one of Kelly Roland having a heated altercation with the said security guard, due to no sound on the video some fans claim it was a racial segregation thing since the security guard is a white skinned woman, a lip reading influencer released a video as she lip reads their conversation and one of the things she reads is Kelly saying “ don’t talk to me like that, you’re not my mother” to the said security guard, this video created a plentiful amount of reactions from fans most being bitter at how their favorite celebrity was treated at such a prestigious event.
The second video is of Massiel Taveras a writer, producer and actress having an altercation with the same security guard, she similarly was being forced to walk up the carpet and not allowed to take proper pictures. In this case she was wearing a dress with a long train adorning the crowned face of Jesus, some fans claim it’s still race, others say, it’s not wanting the face of Jesus on display as a segregation of faith and believe systems while others conclude that the security guard is the one with an issue. The actress took to her instagram to thank all fans for their support and sharing her hope that next year this won’t be a repeat occurrence
Though there is no clear explanation for such occurrences at the prestigious festival one thing that majority agree on is such behavior and treatment of celebrities is utterly unacceptable and the festival organizers must find a way of amending such horrors and prevent it from happening again.
